More than 3000 Cornish Primary and Secondary school students headed to Bodmin College to compete in the 2019 Cornwall School Games. The event was sponsored by the University of Exeter and Pirate FM.
The competition was held across multiple different venues, Bodmin college, Mount Hawke skatepark, Dragon leisure centre, Cornwall BMX, too name a few. Competitors took part in multiple different sports including: football, athletics, surfing, skate and scoot, volleyball, BMX riding, netball, tennis.
There was also a number of small round robin events held for the Bodmin College students who were not participating in any events.
There was also a number of jobs for Bodmin students, helping to set up the venues and help guide competitors to their competitions, as well as opportunities for media students to become school games makers, helping with the media and photography side of the event, filming and photographing the day as it went on.
The day started with competitors and students watching an inspirational opening ceremony filled with music,dancing and chuffy the mascot... there was also a special visit and chat from a team GB Paralympian.
